Zendura VIVA Properties
Advancing the Science of Clear Aligner Therapy
VIVA is the epitome of innovation, pushing the limits of what’s achievable with clear aligner therapy. It takes its basic architecture cues from Zendura FLX.
• Slightly thicker than FLX, VIVA is the perfect aligner for a wide range of tasks like difficult-to-achieve tooth movements (e.g., stubborn canine rotations or extrusions) and the finishing stages of an aligner treatment.
• VIVA is also ideal for applications like revisional cases and for hybrid appliance treatments.
• A growing number of clinician are also using it as a retainer material for select cases.
A Specialty Aligner Material
VIVA is a testament to the engineering prowess of the Bay Materials team of polymer engineers.
• Generates slightly higher teeth movement force (stress retention modulus) than FLX.
• Sustains 20%-plus better teeth movement force over a 7-10 wear period.
• Also retains 150%-plus additional orthodontic force after a normal wear period than
competitive materials.
• Similar to FLX, VIVA also generates 40% less initial force than earlier generation aligner materials, providing greatly improved patient comfort while also delivering
superior teeth movement force.
• VIVA's greater flexibility and elasticity allows it to more easily accommodate the use
of engagers and treat a wider range of cases.
• Its hardy dual shells also provide protection from bruxing.
• Ultra clear and highly stain resistant.
• BPA, phthalate and gluten free.
A Unique Trilayer Structure
Zendura VIVA combines an elastomeric inner core to provide flexibility and elasticity with a hard outer shell to increase elasticity and firmly grip the teeth.
The tough outer shell precisely hugs the teeth, helping to affect the desired tooth movements like rotation and extrusion and intrusion. It also provides a tough barrier to protect against grinding (and bruxing) from the opposing dental arch.
The inner core’s ability to provide exceptional elastic rebound is the real magic of Zendura VIVA.
How Zendura VIVA compares to commodity materials
Some commodity plastic materials offer rigidity and strength... but little elasticity. When deformed, their ability to rebound to provide elasticity - and sustained teeth movement force - is limited.
The elastomeric middle layer of Zendura FLX combine with the hard outer shell to deliver the ability to rebound and recover from mechanical deformation, delivering up to 150%-plus better teeth movement force than competing materials over a 7-10 day wear period.
The elastic properties we engineered into Zendura VIVA result in some amazing 3-dimensional properties. Forces applied in any direction – including rotational forces – receive the rebound response engineered into VIVA!
